Folk patterns preserved to the present day are processed with special software and converted into sound. SoundsWeaver is a project which bridges contemporary and folk art via modern technologies. The participants of the project are Sergey Klykov (weaver) and Sergey Zhighaltsov (visual artist and musician).
Sergey Klykov weaves patterns on sashes and doormats, preserving traditions of folk artisans, and Sergey Zhigaltsov converts these patterns into sounds and noises via a special program Virtual ANS. The atmosphere of the performance makes the audience immerse into visual-acoustic meditation, where ancient folk patterns are intertwining with noises.
The room gets filled with sounds.
Ancient authentic noises and melodies originating in the patterns and passing through centuries
flood the entire space.
